HD Flowtech cast stainless steel globe valves are engineered for isolation and throttling service in high-pressure corrosive, cryogenic, and critical process applications where carbon steel body materials are not suitable. The CF3M low-carbon cast stainless steel body provides excellent corrosion resistance and maintains structural integrity at Class 600 operating pressures across a wide temperature range from −196°C to 425°C, making it suitable for chemical processing, offshore topside piping, LNG service, pharmaceutical, and corrosive hydrocarbon process applications. The low-carbon CF3M grade prevents sensitization and intergranular corrosion at weld heat-affected zones — critical for flanged and welded assemblies in corrosive service where standard CF8M grades may be susceptible to corrosion attack at elevated temperatures. The bolted bonnet provides access for disc and seat inspection, lapping, and maintenance without removing the valve from the pipeline. The OS&Y rising stem design keeps stem threads outside the valve body — protecting them from corrosive process fluid contact and providing unambiguous open/closed visual position indication throughout the full stroke. Stellite-overlaid seat and disc faces provide long service life under high-velocity flow and erosive conditions at Class 600 service pressures. Flanged end connections to ASME B16.5 Class 600 ensure direct integration into high-pressure corrosion-resistant process pipeline systems.

Cast stainless steel globe valves at Class 600 are selected for isolation and throttling service in high-pressure corrosive, offshore, and critical chemical process applications where carbon steel body materials cannot provide adequate corrosion resistance under the combined demands of elevated pressure, aggressive media, and thermal cycling. CF3M and CF8M body materials cover a broad range of corrosive service conditions — from general chemical processing and offshore topside piping to cryogenic LNG service and pharmaceutical applications — making stainless steel globe valves the standard specification for corrosion-resistant process isolation and flow control at Class 600 and above.

 

The OS&Y design is particularly advantageous in corrosive service — keeping stem threads permanently outside the corrosive process environment prevents thread galling and corrosion that would impair valve operability over extended service in aggressive chemical and offshore service conditions. Stellite-overlaid seats and discs are standard for Class 600 service, providing resistance to erosion, wire drawing, and galling under high-velocity corrosive flow conditions that would rapidly degrade unprotected stainless steel seats.

 

Body material selection within stainless steel grades is determined by corrosivity and temperature requirements — CF8M for general corrosive and chemical service, CF3M for welded assemblies and cryogenic applications where sensitization prevention is required, and duplex grades (F51, F53) for high-strength corrosion-resistant service in sour gas and seawater environments.
