HD Flowtech forged stainless steel slab gate valves are engineered for full-bore isolation service in high-pressure corrosive, cryogenic, and critical process applications requiring bidirectional shut-off and zero external leakage. The F304 stainless steel forged body provides excellent corrosion resistance and maintains structural integrity across a wide temperature range from −196°C to 425°C, making it suitable for LNG, cryogenic process piping, chemical processing, and corrosive hydrocarbon service at Class 1500. The pressure seal bonnet construction ensures zero external leakage under sustained high differential pressure — bonnet sealing force increases proportionally with internal pressure, critical for Class 1500 service in corrosive and high-pressure environments. The parallel slab gate with spring-loaded floating seats provides tight bidirectional sealing and automatic cavity pressure relief, preventing over-pressurization of the valve body cavity in high-pressure process service. Butt weld end connections eliminate flanged joint leak paths, providing a fully welded pipeline integration suitable for critical high-pressure and cryogenic service where zero external leakage is mandatory. A gear operator provides low-effort, precise actuation at Class 1500 operating pressures.

Gate Valve Technical Overview

How to Choose the Right Gate Valve for Industrial Applications

Forged stainless steel slab gate valves are selected for high-pressure isolation service in corrosive, cryogenic, and critical process applications where carbon steel body materials are not suitable due to corrosion resistance, low-temperature impact toughness, or process fluid compatibility requirements. The F304 and F316 stainless steel forged body construction provides reliable performance from cryogenic temperatures down to −196°C through high-pressure service at Class 1500, covering LNG facilities, chemical processing plants, offshore platforms, and corrosive hydrocarbon process systems.

Butt weld end connections are specified for critical high-pressure and cryogenic service where flanged joint leak paths must be eliminated — providing fully welded pipeline integration with zero external leakage risk under thermal cycling and high differential pressure conditions. Pressure seal bonnet construction is standard for Class 900 and above, ensuring bonnet joint integrity that scales with internal pressure across the full operating range.

Body material selection within stainless steel grades is determined by fluid compatibility and temperature requirements — F304 and F304L for general corrosive and cryogenic service, F316 and F316L for chloride-bearing and aggressive chemical environments, and duplex grades (F51) for high-strength, corrosion-resistant service in sour gas and offshore applications. Design standards API 602 and API 6D govern forged steel slab gate valves for high-pressure process and pipeline service, with ASME B16.34 applying for pressure-temperature ratings across all stainless steel material grades.
