HD Flowtech supplied a total of 198 valves across two product categories, covering both generating units.

Check Valves — 151 units

The check valve scope covers a wide range of sizes and pressure classes, reflecting the diversity of service systems across a 1000MW generating unit:

• Size range: DN15 to DN900
• Pressure classes: PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN63, PN100, PN160
• Valve types include swing check valves (H44H series), tilting disc check valves (H61H, H64H series), lift check valves (H41H series), and multi-function pump control valves (JD745X)
• Applications span boiler feed water pump discharge lines, cooling water return systems, condensate pipelines, and auxiliary utility circuits

The largest check valves in the scope — DN900 at PN16 — are used on main circulating water or condensate system headers where large-bore, low-pressure backflow protection is required. The highest-pressure items at PN160 serve high-pressure boiler feed water circuits.

Butterfly Valves — 47 units

The butterfly valve scope is concentrated on large-diameter, motorised isolation service across cooling water, circulating water, and vacuum systems:

• Size range: DN100 to DN1100
• Pressure classes: PN10, PN16, PN25
• Types include electric butterfly valves (D943H, D941X series), electric vacuum butterfly valves (D963H series), rubber-lined butterfly valves (D41X, Z41J series), and electric rubber-lined butterfly valves (D941X series)
• The largest items — DN1100 electric butterfly valves at PN10 — are applied on circulating water system main headers, where large-bore motorised isolation is required for unit startup, shutdown, and emergency isolation

Delivery and Project Execution

All 198 valves were delivered within one month of contract signing — a compressed schedule reflecting the project’s active construction programme. Valves are packaged and marked by unit number (Unit 1 in green, Unit 2 in yellow) to support installation sequencing on site.

Quality documentation requirements include factory inspection records, pressure test certificates, and quality conformance certificates for each valve, with third-party witness inspection by the owner’s appointed supervision representative prior to despatch.

Why This Project Matters

The Diantou expansion adds 2×1000MW of thermal generation capacity to Shaanxi Province’s power grid — a significant infrastructure project in a region that supports both industrial coal mining operations and broader grid stability across northwest China. Reliable valve performance across the circulating water, feed water, and vacuum systems directly affects unit availability and long-term maintenance costs.

Supplying 198 valves across 100+ line items — from DN15 small-bore check valves to DN1100 motorised butterfly valves — within a one-month delivery window requires coordinated production scheduling and complete documentation, not just manufacturing capability.
