Oil and Petrochemical Valve Supply — HD Flowtech Project References

Oil and Petrochemical Valve Supply: What We've Actually Delivered
Refinery and petrochemical valve procurement has a reputation for being demanding — and it is. ASME pressure classes, API material standards, fugitive emission requirements, and strict documentation protocols mean that a supplier who works comfortably in general industrial service may struggle to meet the technical baseline for oil and gas applications.
HD Valves has been supplying valves to oil refinery and petrochemical projects since our earliest recorded contracts, with references covering Chinese national oil company facilities, integrated refinery-chemical complexes, and international projects in Central Asia. HD Flowtech is our international export brand — an engineering and R&D-driven manufacturer bringing that experience to oil and petrochemical procurement teams outside China.
The projects below are a selection of representative cases. More references are available on request.
PetroChina Qinghai Oilfield — Long-Term Supply Relationship
Our most consistent oil industry reference is PetroChina Qinghai Oilfield Golmud Refinery, where HD Valves supplied valves across multiple contracts spanning several years. The scope covered gate valves in ASME 150LB and 600LB ratings, socket-welded gate valves, globe valves, welded gate valves, and butterfly valves for major overhaul programmes and capacity expansion.
The Golmud refinery also commissioned a 1.5 million tonne/year atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit expansion, for which HD Valves supplied additional butterfly valves as supplementary scope. Repeat supply relationships with a national oil company facility over multiple years are a reasonable indicator of documentation compliance and delivery consistency — these accounts don’t stay open if either slips.
Large-Scale Petrochemical Projects
Shandong Yulong Petrochemical (Yulong Island integrated refinery-chemical complex, Phase 1) — two separate ball valve contracts totalling over 700 units across DN15 to DN200, for general utility and process service across a large-scale greenfield integrated refinery and chemical facility. Projects at this scale have strict vendor qualification requirements and documentation standards — supply to a project of this complexity requires more than just manufacturing capability.
Xianglu Petrochemical Zhangzhou (PTA unit) — high-pressure ball valves in ASME Class 900LB for PTA process service, where elevated pressure class and material specification are driven by the operating conditions of the terephthalic acid production process.
Fujian Petrochemical Supply (spare parts procurement) — gate valves, globe valves, ball valves, and check valves across multiple ASME pressure classes and material grades for refinery spare parts replenishment. Spare parts procurement for operating refineries requires exact dimensional and material compliance with the original installation specification.
Petrochemical and Refining — C4 and Downstream Processing
Jilin Songyuan Petrochemical has been a repeat customer across three separate contracts — gate valves, globe valves, and check valves for C4 comprehensive utilisation and acid water stripping units, followed by additional valve packages including butterfly valves, needle valves, and Y-strainers for ongoing plant maintenance. Repeat business from a petrochemical customer across multiple years reflects consistent performance on specification compliance and delivery.
International Projects
Kyrgyzstan CNPC Refinery (via Zhongda) — three contract packages for a refinery construction project in Central Asia, covering gate valves, check valves, globe valves, filters, steam traps, ball valves, and pressure reducing valves across ASME and Chinese standard pressure classes. International refinery supply through a Chinese EPC contractor — documentation in both Chinese and English, export packing, and customs documentation all part of the scope.
What Comes Up Repeatedly in Oil and Petrochemical Valve Scopes
Petrochemical valve procurement differs from general industrial procurement in a few consistent ways.
ASME pressure classes are the standard reference. Class 150, 300, 600, 900, and 1500 ratings appear regularly in refinery specifications — procurement teams working to ASME B16.34 need suppliers who understand pressure-temperature derating, not just nominal ratings.
Material traceability is non-negotiable. Mill test reports, heat number traceability, and ASTM material compliance documentation are baseline requirements for refinery valve supply. This is not an add-on — it’s part of the scope.
API 598 pressure testing as standard. Shell hydrostatic test, seat leakage test, and backseat test with individual valve test records. Batch-average test reports are not acceptable on refinery projects.
Fugitive emission control is increasingly specified. Low-emission packing and stem seal designs are becoming standard requirements on globe valves and gate valves for volatile organic compound service — this is a growing area of specification in both Chinese domestic and international refinery projects.
Spare parts and maintenance contracts follow successful project supply. Both PetroChina Golmud and Songyuan Petrochemical became ongoing maintenance customers after initial project delivery — a pattern that reflects how refinery procurement teams manage vendor qualification once a supplier is in the approved list.
HD Flowtech
HD Valves has 1000+ industrial contracts on record across power, chemical, steel, and oil sectors in China. HD Flowtech is the international export brand — engineering and R&D-driven, with a technical team that handles product development, custom configurations, and application-specific selection.
For oil refinery and petrochemical procurement teams outside China, that means a manufacturer with real refinery supply experience — ASME pressure class compliance, full material traceability, API 598 pressure test certification, and documentation standards that hold up to national oil company and EPC contractor QA requirements.
